Camera Ready Art
Camera ready art (black and white printed artwork) should be supplied on bright white paper with art printed from as high a quality laser printer as possible.

It is important to remember that what is presented as camera ready art for printing will be reproduced exactly as presented to us which can mean if there are flaws on your art they will be reproduced.

Colour separations should be supplied on separate printouts and a printed colour hard copy showing colours should be be provided.

Touch-ups can be made to camera ready art at our regular design rates based on time spent.

Digital Art Files
Porcupine Advance uses both PC and Mac computer platforms. We can generally work from most popular professional layout & design software programs such as:

  • Corel Draw (Version 5-11)
  • Adobe Illustrator 10
  • Corel Photo Paint 11
  • Adobe Photo Shop 7
  • Adobe PDF 5
  • PageMaker 6.5
  • Quark Express 5

All text should be converted to curves (CorelDraw) or paths (Illustrator) or all fonts required should be supplied with job.

Linked graphics and bitmaps should also be supplied if they have not been embedded in file.

Artwork to be printed in full colour should be prepared using a CMYK colour palette (not RGB) and all RGB bitmaps need to be converted to CMYK also.

RGB colours should not be used for Black or Greyscale artwork. Percentages of K on CMYK palette should be used and a fee may be charged for any changes required to files using RGB palette.

We can also work from many non-professional desktop publishing programs such as:

  • MS Publisher 97 - 2002
  • Corel Print House
  • Print Artist
  • MS Word
  • Wordperfect

Generally these files must be modified or converted to a professional format before they are useable for printing and as such are subject to our regular design rates.

Please submit a hard copy printout of your artwork along with your files.

All Art Welcome!
We try our best to accomodate all artwork and file formats. However, in some cases artwork must be recreated in our shop due to file incompatibility or low quality artwork.

We will inform you of this prior to commencing job and a base estimate for the re-design based will be included in your estimate.

If you would like to know more about art and file specifications or have any questions regarding preparation of your files contact us or stop by the shop!
